Chapter Events

SISTERHOOD

Through Gamma Phi Beta, we also have many bonding events for our sisters. One thing we do to stay connected is have events called sisterhoods. This is put on by the Sisterhood Chairwoman in the Education department. These events consist of hanging out with sisters while doing something fun! The number of events per semester depend on the sisterhood chair! These sisterhoods range from movie nights to going to the farmer's market! Our sisterhood events are a great way to become closer to the girls in the chapter while doing something fun! It's a great bonding experience!

DATE NIGHTS

Once or twice a semester we have a date night. This is an event where members get to invite another person outside of the chapter to attend! The event has a theme which is voted on by the chapter. The last theme we had was Rock 'n Roll! Other themes included Disney, 2000s, or Roaring 20's! We then go to a venue chosen by the Social Chair and Public Relations Vice President.

"Date nights are such a fun way to not only get to know your sisters more but to introduce your other friends or a girlfriend or boyfriend to your sisters," said Trinity Kellenberger.

MIXERS

Mixers are a fun way to get to know other chapters in Greek Life on campus! Our chapter gets paired with another sorority or fraternity on campus and we plan fun events. These events are put on by our chapter's social chair and the social chair from other chapters. Some fun mixer's we've had in the last year with the fraternities and sororities included going to Balance Yoga, movie night, pairing parties, decorating ornaments around the holidays, and more!

"Mixers are a great part of our Panhellenic community because we meet so many people and get to see so many friendly faces on campus. It’s always so much fun and something to look forward to during the week," said Gina Husinovec.

FORMAL

Formal is an event we host as a chapter, where once a year, we rent a venue out and each attendee get's a meal. Each member of the chapter is allowed to bring one guest of their choosing. This last year, Formal was held at Elk's Lodge in Waterloo with

chapter superlatives presented, a pasta dinner, and lots of dancing!

"Formal is very similar to Homecoming where we get to dress up, do our hair and makeup, but different in the way that we celebrate with an entire sisterhood of your best friends," says Ellen Nicholson.

Chapter women are free to dress to express themselves, however they may choose. Formal is an elegant event, but doesn't stop women from dressing in whatever they feel comfortable in.
